Finally moved and open for business

5th Jan 2023

What a crazy year 2022 has been. We got the news in spring that Bob got orders. He's active duty career Air Force and in another month will be at 19 years. When we took on the Wild West Pioneer endurance ride we planned to retire in CA. Bob even took a different position that we thought would allow us to stay at Beale AFT until retirement. But as the military likes to do we got a curve ball. With 1.5yr left in we got orders to South Carolina. So that's how it goes. Here comes a new adventure. We put on the endurance ride one last time before passing it on, then got to packing.

Summer through Fall of 2022 consisted of nothing but moving. We started in July and didn't finish until Nov. Between Bob, his mom, his brother, my dad, 2 friends and I we drove around 20 trips. I estimate 39,000 miles total between 4 vehicles and 5 trailers plus we shipped one truck. We moved 2 households, 10 horses, 8 goats, 6 dogs and 2 cats. I hope I don't ever have to do it again.

I took some time off to get settled and recover. Then Dec off to to my favorite thing, make Christmas presents! But it's the New Year and here we go. We have been debating our business name. I re-named the business Wild West Endurance from Hooves N Whiskers because of the endurance ride. I wasn't sure it was the right name to go on with now that we have passed the ride on. But I haven't found a perfect new name, I don't think it exists. And our customers sure love the current name. So Wild West Endurance it stays. My friend Beth gave me a new slogan that makes it fit for me. Wild from West to East. That's definitely me!

Our most popular mohair girths, cinches and reins are back available on the website. Our other products will not be available till March. We need to focus on getting inventory made up for convention. We will have several new products available this year and will be focusing on keeping our schedule balanced so orders go out in a timely manner.

We will be at the AERC convention in Florida in Feb. Then hope to bring the store to several endurance rides in the SE region this year. If you're in the area please come visit. We would love to see old friends and make new ones.
