Our Mohair Girths are handmade here in South Carolina using premium 100% Mohair and stainless steel hardware. We can make any size in a variety of colors. Price changes depending on size and style. Girths have one D ring on the front so they are put on the same direction every time and the knots adjust to custom fit your horses barrel. We stabilize the girths with machine sewn mohair wrapped centers that hold up for heavy duty use. We use only natural fiber materials in our girths including a generous wool buckle backing. Dressage girths come standard with buckle backs. Jumping length girths as traditionally made, do not come with buckle backs. All girths are custom made to your specification and may take up to 4-8 weeks to produce.
This listing is for a English Girth with 2 buckles on each side to fit 1" English billets. For a western cinch with one buckle for a latigo please go to: Mohair Cinch
WWEC Girths and Cinches have been used in events like Tevis, 100 miles rides and multi day rides. They are our most popular item. Very successful endurance riders like Heather R, Mark M, Karen C, Dave R and Diane S use them. After using our girths and cinches many riders report no longer having girth rubs or heat / friction issues, better saddle stabilization and happier horses. No product will fix issues for every horse. If you have a horse having girth problems please contact us for possible solutions.
Contour Roper Style: Double strands with a wider center and narrower top for better weight distribution and less width behind elbow. Our most popular option that can have more than one color in the body.
Straight Style: 14 strand traditional girth.
Split Style: Girth is only together in the center. Then two separate pieces come out to the buckles. Fantastic and advised for a V girthing system, Y system, Western conversion or a Criss Cross system. For example a Ultralight works great with this girth. It increases the surface area of weight distribution and reduces bulk in the armpit to prevent rubbing. Allows the girth to follow the path of your billets. Not advised if your billets come straight down together.
DESIGN OPTIONS Artists choice: You may get a standard body and accent color girth or you may get a different design. Keep it simple: one body color with minimal accent color. Make it fancy: your girth could have two body colors, more than one accent color, it will have a upgraded D ring and possibly more. Custom Design: you know exactly what you want and will tell me in the notes. I'll do my best to recreate your vision. Brands and designs in the mohair may incur an additional charge.
Available on request: Twist colors. These can frequently change. Please look at the mohair colors and write in the notes which one you would like. If not available we will use the solid main body color you choose as a backup. New buckles for 1" billets that are multiple layers and too thick to easily slide through standard buckles. Great for a ultralight. Please request thick style English buckles in the notes section. Girths especially made for Free N Easy V Girthing systems with a different length of front and back billets. Please choose as split girth, then choose the size of longer portion of girth and write in the notes on your order the shorter portion size. Miniature horse or pony girths. Please choose a 18" then write in notes that this is for a miniature. Standard mini size is a 14" girth.

HANDWASH ONLY
Dyed mohair is not guaranteed color fast. We've tried to photograph the available mohair colors but dye lots do vary and monitors may present colors differently. Wool comes in natural and dyed black. Items are custom made for you so they may take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to ship out. Please e-mail us for a exact shipment time. To figure out sizing please measure your current girth with it on your horse girthed up or the ends pulled apart with pressure. Not sitting flat on a table and don't trust the measurement on the tag. If your current girth has elastic please go up one or two sizes. Mohair does not stretch or shrink. But it can adjust slightly over the first few rides as it gets dirty, generally not more than 1/2". We make our girths as close to size as possible but this is a art form and slight deviations are possible.
What is mohair?
Mohair is the lustrous and strong hair of the Angora goat. Often referred to as the "diamond fiber," the distinctive properties of mohair have made it a highly desired fiber for clothing and home furnishings. Prior to the development of synthetics, mohair was the fiber of choice for horse cinches. Due to the increased demand for quality products, today's saddle makers and horseman have rediscovered the benefits of mohair for cinches and girths, as well as breast collars and reins.
• Natural fiber.
• Is hair and will not shrink like wool.
• Soft luxurious hand and rich luster combine with great durability for a long lasting product.
• High affinity for dyes, produces exceptional colors.
• Resilient, is not easily crushed or matted.
• Wicks moisture.
• Horses appear to like the smell.
Refunds are only accepted in new condition within 30 days and have a 40% restocking fee. Some custom items are not returnable.

Mohair Girths
The quality on these girths is incredible. I haven't had a single girth gall since I started using them (including on a 200 mile/ 4 day) ride. They are also really durable. I accidentally put them through the washer and dryer, which is not a good idea, but they held up beautifully despite my abuse.
